HOW TO

Make photo capture optional without disabling the option in ArcGIS QuickCapture

Last Published: August 15, 2024

Summary

ArcGIS QuickCapture enables users to quickly capture data, including photos, videos, locations, and attributes of assets or incidents. However, when the ability to take photos is enabled, users are required to take a photo before they can proceed with capturing other data. This setup can be limited to scenarios where users need to collect data at one location and take a photo at a different location. This article provides the workflow to make photo capture optional in ArcGIS QuickCapture, allowing users to skip adding photos while keeping the option to capture them.

  1. Log in to ArcGIS QuickCapture Web Designer and on the MY PROJECTS tab, click the project.
  2. In the project preview, click the preferred button to display the Button pane.
  3. In the Button pane, on the DATA tab, scroll down to the Show camera option.
  4. For Number of photos/videos, select 0 from the Minimum drop-down list.
  5. Repeat Steps 2 to 4 to configure other buttons in the project.
