HOW TO
In ArcGIS Enterprise, most processes create temporary files as staging files before they are completed. In some cases, the temporary files are not automatically removed by ArcGIS Enterprise, resulting in slow performance of geoprocessing tasks, and halting other functions. Cases where files are expected to be left in the temp directory include: process crashes, the machine turning off unexpectedly, or intermittent issues when writing to network storage leading to system instability. In regular operation, ArcGIS Enterprise should clear temporary files, and an investigation needs to be logged with Technical Support to review the issue. This article provides the workflow to delete the Enterprise temporary files to avoid performance issues.
