Frequently asked question
No. In ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, layers created using the Generate Travel Areas tool are automatically updated when new features are added. The travel area layer created by the Generate Travel Areas tool is independent of the feature layer. This is expected behavior, as the layer is static, not dynamic. Once the layer is created, it no longer maintains any connection to the data source. The output layer is fixed and cannot be updated to include new input features.
Thus, if updates to the travel area layer are required, a new layer must be created based on the updated input data. In Map Viewer, ensure the input data, such as feature layers or datasets, is current and includes the latest information when using the Generate Travel Areas tool to create a new travel area layer. This layer is based on the updated input data and reflects the latest changes. If necessary, replace or update the previous travel area layer with the newly created one.
