Frequently asked question
No, it is not possible to use numeric data from a CSV file as a variable to create a color-coded map in ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App. This is a known limitation, as a color-coded map can only be created using a variable from the Esri Demographics data. Refer to ArcGIS Business Analyst: Data in Business Analyst for more information. However, it is possible to export the site layer to ArcGIS Online and configure it in Map Viewer using smart mapping. This method displays the numeric data from the feature layer as a color-coded map.
Note: Excel and CSV files with addresses, coordinates, or standard geographic boundaries can be used as a site layer in the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App project. Refer to ArcGIS Business Analyst: Add your data for more information.
Note: To ensure the data are accessible, manageable, and ready for various applications and analyses, export the feature layer to a CSV file, file geodatabase, KML file, or shapefile using the Extract Data tool in Map Viewer.
