Tool has failed to open: interop.QuickImport

Error Message

Using the Quick Import tool from the Data Interoperability extension in ArcGIS Pro returns the following error message:

Tool has failed to open: interop.QuickImport

The error message is returned even though the Data Interoperability license is available in ArcGIS Pro.

Note:
The Data Interoperability extension is only available with the Data Interoperability license. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: What is the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for Desktop? for more information.

Cause

The Data Interoperability extension is not installed on ArcGIS Pro. Authorizing the extension with the Data Interoperability license does not automatically install the extension on ArcGIS Pro.

Solution or Workaround

To resolve this issue, download the Data Interoperability extension from My Esri, and install the extension on ArcGIS Pro. To do so, follow the instructions described below.

1. Follow Steps 1 through 4 outlined in How To: Download and install Esri software from My Esri.
2. In the list of available products, navigate to ArcGIS Pro. Specify the required ArcGIS Pro version, and click View Downloads.

3. Search for ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro, and click Download in the Action column.

4. When prompted to run or save the extension, click Save > Save as.

5. In the Save As dialog box, specify the download destination for the extension. Click Save.

6. Navigate to the destination file, and run the Data Interoperability installation file to install the extension on ArcGIS Pro. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Installing the ArcGIS Data Interoperability extension for more information.
