Error Message

In ArcGIS Pro, when exporting a layout as a PDF file using Export Layout, the process runs and successfully creates a PDF file. However, attempting to open the PDF file fails, and returns the following error message:

There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.

Cause

This issue occurs when the PDF file is saved in a network drive.

Solution or Workaround

In ArcGIS Pro, in the Export pane, save the PDF file in a local drive folder when exporting the layout.
