Last Published: November 15, 2024

Error Message

When attempting to create tables with a Structured Query Language (SQL) client and registering the tables with an enterprise geodatabase in ArcGIS Pro, the process fails and returns the following error:

Error:
This geodatabase does not support this client or operation
Failed to execute (RegisterWithGeodatabase).
The geodatabase not supported error message

Cause

The enterprise geodatabase does not support the new data types introduced in ArcGIS Pro 3.2. These new data types include:

  • Big integer
  • Date only
  • Time only
  • Timestamp offset

These data types are only supported in enterprise geodatabase versions 11.2 and later. When a table created using a SQL client includes any of these new data types and the geodatabase is not in the required version, the registration process fails.

Solution or Workaround

Upgrade the enterprise geodatabase

Perform an upgrade on the enterprise geodatabase to match the current version of ArcGIS Pro installed on the machine. Refer to ArcGIS Pro: Upgrade Geodatabase (Data Management) for additional information.
