DEPRECATION
ArcGIS GeoPlanner, which is an extension of ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online, is being deprecated. Its final release will be with the ArcGIS Online June 2024 updates, and similarly its final release with ArcGIS Enterprise was included with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 (November 2023). Important timelines for ArcGIS GeoPlanner are as follows:
ArcGIS Enterprise
ArcGIS Online
This deprecation has no impact to the Suitability Modeler widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder.
ArcGIS GeoPlanner has significantly contributed to raising awareness of geodesign principles and techniques in the ArcGIS system. Now, these principles are widely accessible across various products. As Esri continues to promote geodesign as a platform-first pattern of use, it reduces the need for GeoPlanner and enables a user experience leaning toward capabilities found across ArcGIS. It is important to note that GeoPlanner was built with ArcGIS API for JavaScript 3.x, which is set to retire in July 2024, leaving GeoPlanner’s core technology unsupported. These are the primary reasons for the deprecation and retirement of ArcGIS GeoPlanner.
Customers must consider migrating their geodesign and scenario planning workflows to other ArcGIS products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Experience Builder, ArcGIS Urban and ArcGIS Dashboards.
