Unable to apply the changes on the hosted feature service on Map Viewer when adding coded value domains to a hosted feature service from a REST endpoint.

Workaround

• Add the coded value domain by creating a list of values from the Data tab of the hosted feature service's item details page:
  • On the hosted feature layer's item page, click the Data tab to open the attribute table.
  • Click Fields.
  • If the hosted feature layer contains more than one sublayer, use the Layer drop-down menu to select the sublayer containing the desired field.
  • Click the field's display name to open the settings for the field.
  • Click Create List.
    • A list of possible values before there is data in the layer can be created. However, if the field contains values when creating the list, click Generate List to populate the list with the unique values from the field. The number of times that value appears in the field is shown in the initial list.
  • Type values for each possible code and label for a field.
    • Label - Displayed Value
    • Code: Stored Value
  • Click Save
