Additional Information

This seems to be a data issue. The query runs into this error when the definition column of the sde.gdb_items_vw does not contain any XML data. "LPX-00007: unexpected end-of-file encountered."

Workaround

Run the following query prior running the XML extract query: select * from sde.gdb_items_vw
