The job status in ArcGIS Server Manager gets stuck at the EXECUTING state when the ArcGIS Server machine crashes or restarts during the tool execution.
When a server site or machine crashes during a job's executing state, the job may remain marked as EXECUTING even though it has actually failed.
In this case, the job status changes first to Failed once the job timeout is reached. The job timeout is determined as the greater value between the maximum service usage timeout and the maximum file age in the arcgisjobs directory. Once the job timeout is reached, the Failed or Canceling job are deleted in the subsequent job directory cleaning cycle.
