解决办法

After creating the join, export the table containing the join. Use this exported table as the Input Event Table. ArcMap does not crash while saving the layer file from the table of contents or from the geoprocessing tool. OR Save the layer as a layer file using the 'Save to Layer File' geoprocessing tool. (ArcToolbox> Data Management Tools > Layers and Table Views > Save To Layer File )
