The user should add the aliases to the ‘Street mapping’ section of the General locator style file in the following way. Example: GASTH > GASTHOF Example: GASTH. GASTHF. GASTHF GASTHOF • ‘Gasth Storchen’ should return Gasthof Storchen • ‘Gasthf Stor’ should return Gasthof Storchen and 1 other suggestion • ‘Gasth. Schwanen’ should return Gasthof Schwanen • ‘Gasth’ should return suggestions that contain Gasthof in the name It is important to keep in mind the following when adding the aliases to the Street mapping section. 1. The more aliases you add it reduces the performance of the locator. 2. Words for aliases must be unique and if more than one exists, the group of aliases listed first will only be processed. 3. A short name no less than 3 letters should be chosen as the default name. If a long name is selected the size of the index will grow, which will make the locator larger in size.
