In ArcGIS API for Python 2.1, when using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 or prior with the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (Java Platform) and the Apache web server, authentication to the portal fails if the ProxyErrorOverride parameter in the Apache configuration is set to 'On'.

- Set "ProxyErrorOverride = Off".
- Use ArcGIS API for Python 2.0 or prior.
- Use ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1.
