Field Calculator fails when a feature layer contains the character '/'.

• Substitute '/' with another character or remove it from the layer name.
• Option 2

1. Export the feature layer to a new feature class (can be skipped if the feature class from which the feature layer is originated already contains the field which is to be used in Field Calculator).
2. Open the Calculate Field (Data Management) tool.
3. For Input Table, browse to the feature class through the file icon instead of selecting the feature layer from the drop-down list.
