Fail to update field aliases in a feature layer with arcpy.AlterField_management if the project was created from imported MXD layers.

解决办法

For small projects, add the data again from the source to the map 

OR

1.      Go to the folder where the projects are.

2.      Open the project.

a.      For each layer in the project

                        i.     Read the source of the existing layers

                        ii.     Add the source feature class from the geodatabase (for example: the name is source_layer)

                        iii.     Apply symbology on the existing layer to source_layer

                       iv.     Remove the existing layer.

3. Save and close the project.
