ArcScan generates features with incorrect extents when connected cells are selected and if the polyline used is a shapefile.

1. Export the 1-bit TIFF to 8-bit, right-click on the TIFF and select Data > Export Data.2. Create a file geodatabase, create an empty polyline feature class, and use this instead of a shapefile.3.
