A layer object does not recognise new added fields when using any buffer operations (for example ArcPy or geoprocessing tool) on the new fields.

No plans to address this issue at this time. Current workarounds have been documented: -Delete the feature layer and re-create it. -Simply run MakeFeature Layer. -If in the app, just use the layer itself: no need to run MakeFeatureLayer

解决办法

Re-run the Make Feature Layer tool again after adding and calculating the new field before the Buffer tool on the added fields.
