Erro
When a manual editing session is active, the Calculate Field tool returns error "000464: Cannot get exclusive schema lock. Either being edited or in use by another application or service." when calculating values for a new field in a shapefile.

This issue is not reproducible.Solução Provisória
Turn off the manual editing session or enable automatic editing (uncheck 'Enable and disable editing from the Edit tab' in the Editing options). This issue is also not observable when calculating values for existing fields or using geodatabases as the input.
