The ArcGIS Experience Builder Near Me widget is slow when used with polygon data.

The work for performance improvement is in progress, but requires significant work. The following options can be considered to improve performance.

Configuration options in ArcGIS Experience Builder:

1. Enable client-side query in the Map widget.
2. If sorting by distance (the default) is not required, configure the Near Me widget to sort by a field instead.
3. Configure only the fields that need to be exported so that Near Me queries only those fields rather than all fields (the default).
4. Turn off the Expand feature detail option in the proximity analysis of the Near Me widget.

Optimize feature layers:

1. Generalize polygon layers where possible.
2. Remove unnecessary fields.
3. Large datasets with many features take longer to query; use smaller datasets if possible.
4. Calculate spatial and attribute indexes on any fields that are returned to improve query responses.

Optimize the map:

1. Avoid using a large number of layers in the map.
2. Configure pop-ups to include only the required fields.
