ArcMap versions post 10.1 do not hang or crash when clacluting geometry on provided test data.Solução Provisória
1. Open the layer in ArcMap.2. Use the Multipart To Singlepart tool from ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Features.3. Perform Calculate Geometry on the desired field.4. Use the Dissolve tool from ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Generalization on a unique field to merge the features back together.Or, as opposed to performing the workaround above, use ArcGIS 9.3.1 or 10.1 to perform the calculations.Etapas para Reproduzir
