Informações Adicionais
The ArcGIS Maps for Adobe Creative Cloud team is developing a solution to improve the AIX processing time in Adobe Illustrator. However, this issue in particular uses two examples of 1 million and 3 million point symbols in Alaska displayed at the national scale. To render each point in Adobe Illustrator, the application uses at least four anchor points per point symbol. This brings the anchor points to, at minimum, 4 and 12 million anchor points. Adobe Illustrator requires a lot of RAM to render. This known limitation exists in the third-party software. A PDF export of the same map and data cannot open even in Adobe Acrobat. Additionally, the visual of 4 million points at on a small scale in the examples provided is not cartographically meaningful or legible.
Solução Provisória
Zoom into the map and display only the points required for the map. However, if all points are required, use one of the following workarounds.
- In ArcGIS Pro, cartographically render the points into a meaningful or legible visual, and rasterize the points. Then, export the data as an AIX file.
- In ArcGIS Pro, divide the dataset into smaller datasets. Then, cartographically render the points into a meaningful or legible visual, and export each smaller dataset layer individually. The layers can be pasted into a single AIX or AI file. However, the RAM limitations of Adobe Illustrator still exist. To paste layers in their precise location, press Ctrl and F, or Command and F on Mac.
