Navigating to ArcGIS Online > Content > New item, and keying in a URL for a service to be added from ArcGIS Enterprise fails to show a prompt to store credentials.

This behavior is as designed for ArcGIS Enterprise deployments secured behind a firewall, a VPN, or other security of that sort. Referencing services from this type of secured deployment in ArcGIS Online is expected to not provide the option to secure a service with stored credentials.
