Data image disappears in ArcMap when changing the 'don't show layer when zoomed in beyond' and clicking apply.

Solução Provisória

After the data has disappeared, if you increment the scale by 1, or subtract 1 and push enter the image comes back.Also resizing the window or map frame will bring back the image (as the scale changes)
