Secured ArcGIS 10.1 for Server services on the GIS tier with Active Directory (AD) users and built-in roles cannot be added to an ArcGIS Online web map and returns the error, "Unable to access the authentication resource." A HTTP capture shows that the ArcGIS Online tokens page returns the error code, “400: Unable to Complete Operation" when attempting to pass through the ArcGIS Online sharing proxy.
