In ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS, there is no option to update dependent items when adding an item to a group using the 'Add items to group' button.

This issue is as designed. There is no 'Review layer sharing' dialog when adding a web map with dependent items to a group using the 'Add items to group' button.
