If the data is going to be used outside of an Esri software, use the following editing workflow instead of edge snapping:
- Identify the feature to snap to.
- Edit the vertices of the feature.
- Add a vertex to the point along the edge to snap to.
- Use vertex snapping instead of edge snapping when creating the new feature.
