Query Def cursors are not currently supported on Historical Workspaces. A workaround would be to use a Search Cursor instead of a Query Def cursor. Search Cursors are supported on Archived classes, this is what the core archiving functionality in ArcGIS relies upon.Additional workaround solutions in KB38389
