Bogue

When unchecking and rechecking the Business Analyst capability in the Service Properties of a map service using ArcGIS Server Manager, the configuration tag (<MainConfigPath>) is getting erased in the map configuration file, and the service will not start. Error message is "Unable to Start service. Error (Configuration DefaultMap.MapServer cannot be started. Server Object instance creation failed on machine." The service starts if the Business Analyst capability is unchecked.

Solution de contournement

The workaround is to manually add the missing tag (<MainConfigPath>) to the map configuration file and restart the map service in ArcGIS Server Manager. Also, as long as the Administration component of Business Analyst server is run, in ArcCatalog, open the service properties, click on Capabilities tab, click on Business Analyst capability, under Properties, manually add the configuration file.
