Inadvertently has introduced a bug in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript version 4.29.Solution de contournement
Until this is fixed the following CSS rule can be added to the application to display the image: .esri-layer-list__item-action-image { text-align: center; background-position: 50%; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-size: contain; flex: 0 0 16px; width: 16px; height: 16px; font-size: 14px; }.
