Bogue
The Trace tool from the Editor toolbar cannot trace polygon data where the width of the polygon is the same or less than the snapping tolerance.

This is a limitation of the Trace tool in ArcMap. However, in ArcGIS Pro this limitation has been addressed.Solution de contournement
Use line data with the correct offset to create the trace or create larger buffers. Select the feature to be traced, click the Trace tool, and click the O key to access tracing options. In the dialog box, check Trace Selected Features. The Trace tool only uses the selected single feature at any scale.Étapes pour reproduire
