The Sum, Mean, and Median functions are not available in the Aggregation drop-down menu of the Chart configuration window in ArcGIS Pro 1.4 Alpha.

You must choose a field in the Series Table for aggregation functions to become available. When only a category is selected, the only option is to COUNT how many times each category appears in the dataset. Once you chose a numeric field in the Series Table, then that numeric field can be summarized using SUM, MEAN, or MEDIAN. Before you choose a numeric field there is nothing sum or average.
