This issue has been fixed in the ArcGIS Online hosted app via our 5.3 release on Wednesday 20th Sept. The downloadable code will be updated this week. Please watch for the September release on this page: https://github.com/Esri/storymap-shortlist/releases

Solution de contournement

In order to select the features using the window after clicking on a reference layer, close and reopen the left panel.
