The map frame on a layout represents the paper that would be produced if the layout page was printed. The details shown in the scene map frame does not change when zoomed in within the layout view. In contrast, the map view is a live view with active zooming, and the shadow rendering updates based on the camera position. There should be no expectation that the shadow resolution in a map frame changes when zooming into the layout view.
