The IProximityOperator::ReturnDistance method returns an Automation Error when finding the distance between a Point feature and features in a PolyLine feature class.

Solution de contournement

Re-projecting the point to the polyline’s Coordinate System using IGeometry::Project we do not receive the error and the ReturnDistance method returns the distance between the point and polyline features. The following lines of code was used to perform the Projection: Dim geom As IGeometry Dim geom1 As IGeometry Set geom = pFeat.Shape Set geom1 = pLnFeat.Shape geom.Project geom1.SpatialReference Set pProximity = geom
