Bogue
The error message, "The version is currently in use" is returned when attempting to delete a child version from the version management window.

- Reopen ArcGIS Pro.
- Clear the cache in ArcGIS Pro by navigating to Settings > Options > Display > Local cache. Check the Clear cache check box and click OK.
- Use the Delete Version geoprocessing tool.
