Bogue

The documentation states the Append method is available for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1 or higher but an exception is raised stating, "Append only available on ArcGIS Online" when trying to append a new CSV to an existing CSV within Portal for ArcGIS from a Python API. GeoJSON and FeatureCollection upload formats result in the same behavior.

Solution de contournement

  1. Publish the Library_Data.csv file to ArcGIS Online.
  2. Source the Append_AGOL.py file.
  3. Update the same code with "source = GIS(username="*", password="*")" for the ArcGIS Online credentials.
  4. Update the script with the ArcGIS Online hosted table item ID. The append method completes in ArcGIS Online.
