ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. There are no plans for future releases of ArcGIS Desktop, and it is recommended that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro. - Do not work with the same data from a file geodatabase in two different projects at the same time.
- Do not cancel the overwrite process after getting the schema locking error, and close the second ArcMap project.
- Use ArcGIS Pro instead of ArcMap.
