The Construct Sight Lines from the 3D Analyst toolbox fails with the error message, "ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail." when using Shape. Z for Target Hight Field if a 3D line feature is an exact vertical line like a building edge.

Use the Add Geometry Attributes geoprocessing tool to add hight values to the attribute table and use those for the Target Hight Field in the Construct Sight Lines geoprocessing tool.
