Bogue
The Append tool in ArcGIS Pro freezes when run if the Input Datasets parameter is set to an event layer and the datasets for both the Input Datasets and Target Dataset parameters contain 1,000 features or more.

The Append tool prevents operations where the target dataset and the input dataset are the same. However, the behavior observed is a known limitation when 'MakeXYEventLayer' is run on a given feature class and used as input to the Append tool, and the target dataset is the same feature class that is referenced by the event layer.Solution de contournement
Instead of setting the Append tool's Input Datasets parameter to an event layer, set that parameter to a feature class copy of the event layer.
