SYNC_RECEIVE versions are adding up in sde.sde_versions table whenever synchronize changes take place in two-way replication and also there are 2 SYNC_SEND versions: one orphaned from previous replica and another one from current replica.

Solution de contournement

a) Deleted orphaned SYNC_SEND_1_0 version (orphaned from previous replica) from sde.sde_versions table in cad database using sdeversion -o delete command.b) Compressed cad database.c) Unregistered replica from cad and vecc databases.d) Compressed cad and vecc databases.e) Deleted Edits version from vecc database.f) Compressed vecc database.g) Created 2 way replica in ArcMap using "Register existing data only" option.h) Synchronize changes both directions.i) Compressed cad and vecc databases.j) Opened ArcMap. Made an edit in CENTERLINES feature class which participates in replication.k) Synchronized changes both directions.l) Compressed cad and vecc databases.m) Deleted the line added in step (j). n) Synchronized changes both directions.o) Compressed cad and vecc databases.p) Confirmed that SYNC_RECEIVE versions are not adding up in sde.sde_versions.q) Deleted SYNC_SEND_9_2 version from cad database which was orphaned due to unregistering the replica.r) Compressed cad and vecc databases.s) Deleted SYNC_SEND_61_4 version from vecc database which was orphaned due to unregistering the replica.t) Compressed cad and vecc databases.
