The two workflows are different. In ArcGIS Pro, geodesic area is calculated in acres for the data in a geographic coordinate system. This calculation is slow compared to a planar area calculation that is possible from the Calculate Geometry dialog in ArcMap. Planar areas and distances with geographic coordinate system (GCS) data are invalid/incorrect. It is not possible to calculate the area for GCS dataset in ArcMap as the dialog disables the Area and Perimeter options as the calculations are invalid/incorrect.Étapes pour reproduire
