Sharing items with a custom User role in Portal for ArcGIS prompts a message regarding upgrading sharing level privileges.

Solution de contournement

Clicking 'Update' in the dialog box proceeds to the group sharing page and allows members to share with a group. It does not update the sharing level to 'Everyone'.
