Bogue
Running a scheduled model returns "Error 000732" when the input data is dragged directly from the Contents pane.

The project must be saved to use new map layers as input to scheduled tools. In this case, the layer is a shapefile, it is expected that the scheduled tool is unable to run successfully when the project is open, as having the project open locks the shapefile from being able to write or calculate field in the scheduled process. When these conditions are met, the scheduled model containing the Select Layer By Attribute and Calculate Field tools completes successfully. Double-click the Select Layer By Attribute tool and manually browse to the same layer within the tool. The scheduled model runs successfully.
