This is the expected behavior. As long as the ordering of the vertices does not change, then the order of vertices does not matter. Consider the following polygons: 4-----3 3-----2 | | | | | | | | 1-----2 4-----1 In the first polygon point 1 is (0,0), point 2 is (2,0), point 3 is (2,2), point 4 is (0,2), and point 5 is the same as point 1. In the second polygon point 1 is (2,0), point 2 is (2,2), point 3 is (0,2), point 4 is (0,0) and point 5 is the same as point 1.
