If either the Print or Export pane was open when the ArcGIS Pro application was last shut down, the application crashes when a project file (.aprx) is opened with the display language set to Czech, Russian, or Portuguese.

For users who have set ArcGIS Pro to open the start page, follow these steps to avoid the crash:

1. Open the ArcGIS Pro application to the start page (do not open a project file (.aprx)).
2. Navigate to Settings > Options > Language. Set the display language to English and restart ArcGIS Pro.
3. Open a project or create a new one.
4. Close any open instances of the Print or Export pane.
5. Close ArcGIS Pro.
6. Open ArcGIS Pro and set the display language back to Czech, Russian, or Portuguese. As long as the Print or Export pane is not opened, it does not crash.

For users who have set ArcGIS Pro to open either 'With a default project' or 'Without a project template', this setting can be changed in the user.config file to allow the application to open to the start page.

1. With all instances of ArcGIS Pro closed, go to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\ESRI\ArcGISPro.exe_StrongName_<alphanumeric string>\2.5.0.0.
2. Open the user.config file in a text editor.
3. Search for 'StartProjectMode' and change the value to 'ShowStartPage'. It should look like this: <value>ShowStartPage</value>
4. Save and close the user.config file.

Then follow steps 1-6 above.

It may also be possible to work around the Print or Export pane crash. For the layout that triggers the crash, create a map series: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/layouts/create-a-map-series.htm. Use any feature class and turn the layer off to prevent it from printing.
