Installing the ArcIMS 9.2 Service Pack 4 on Linux creates a read-only log file, .ESRI_IMS_PATCH_LOG. Uninstalling ArcIMS does not remove this log file and as a result, it cannot install any other service pack version due to the existing log file for Service Pack 4.

Solution de contournement

Manually remove .ESRI_IMS_PATCH_LOG in the AIMSHOME directory before installing ArcIMS 9.2 service packs other than 4.this will be fixed for 9.3 - manually delete the file for 9.2 though
