Bogue
In Portal for ArcGIS, the following error message, "something unexpected caused the tool to fail" is returned after adding a Microsft Excel document and creating a hosted feature layer.

The X and Y fields must be numeric in order to be used as the longitude and latitude value.Solution de contournement
Follow the following workaround:
- Add the excel sheet as a CSV file to Portal for ArcGIS.
- Publish the CSV file from the overview page in Portal for ArcGIS.
