In ArcGIS Pro 3.0.1, building a terrain using the Z-tolerance pyramid type and a specific point and polygon input results in Build Terrain hanging.

Using a single terrain dataset as a catalog of sorts for thousands of individual surfaces (for example, each bridge or overpass in the state) is not the intended design for a terrain dataset. It is meant to model an individual surface, such as a countywide digital terrain model (DTM). However, the Help button does not make it clear that a terrain should not be used this way, and the software does not catch or prevent the situation. Notes will be added to the Help system to better clarify how the terrain dataset should be used.Solution de contournement
- Select Window Size as the pyramid type when running the Create Terrain tool.
- Remove the polygon from the Add Feature Class To Terrain tool.
