Bogue
In ArcCatalog 10.4/10.4.1, the Set Data Source(s) tool for MXDs do not connect to shapefile data sources. Links are broken when the MXD is reopened in ArcMap.

This is not a defect: The layers in the original mxd are pointing to feature classes within a GDB; in the second mxd the user wanted those layers to point to shapfiles which are a different data type than the first mxd. Changing just the path will only work if the new data source is a GDB with the same structure as the current data source.Solution de contournement
Creating a map package in ArcMap will enable the user to move the file, which includes the MXD and all the data from a network-connected computer to a laptop so that the user can work offline.Étapes pour reproduire
